Support Our Community Workshop
How You Can Help Us Grow
As a registered charity, Men in Sheds Lancing & Sompting relies on the generosity of local residents, businesses, and community grants to keep our workshop open, maintained, and accessible to everyone. There are several ways you can support our mission:
- Tool & Timber Donations: We welcome donations of good-quality hand tools, usable timber, machinery, and workshop consumables. Please contact us before dropping off items so we can check storage capacity.
- Financial Contributions: Direct donations help cover our essential operational costs, including heating, electricity, machinery maintenance, insurance, and safety equipment.
- Community Commissions: Commissioning small timber builds or repair work from us directly supports our workshop running costs.
Our Thanks & Community Partners
We are deeply grateful to the individuals, local council members, and organisations whose continued backing makes our Shed possible:
- Early Foundations: Our sincere thanks to our original landlords, Julie and Howard Attwater, for providing our first home in Grinstead Lane.
- Manor Park Transition: Heartfelt thanks to our former Chairman Jock, alongside Councillors Carol and Carson Albury, for securing our permanent location at Manor Park.
- Renovation Effort: Immense gratitude to Shed Manager Frank King and Shedders electrician Martin Ireson for leading the extensive barn transformation during lockdown.
- National Affiliation: Proudly affiliated with the UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA).
